Phone Attribution

Telephone attribution is intended to identify the normal or regular user of a particular phone number during a defined period of time.

Witness statements, documentary items, subscription details, handset/SIM examinations for directory listings and text message content can provide direct attribution evidence linking a named individual to a telephone number.

Cell-site or cell use profiles can provide indirect attribution support to a named attribution if it is consistent with known home or work addresses or with location information evidenced by CCTV, ANPR and witnessed sightings.

Contact profiles and call patterns may also support or contradict an attribution and can be useful to make a comparison with the proven attribution of another phone.
