I have 34 years’ experience in the wireless telecommunications industry including senior technical and managerial positions at British Telecom, Ionica (a fixed radio access operator), Quotient, Albera Networks and Aircom International. For over 5 years I worked as a senior strategic consultant advising Mobile Network Operators, suppliers and regulators on the application of mobile technology, network dimensioning and planning, and operational support systems.

I was the technical lead on several operator licence applications around Europe and was an advisor to the UK government for a spectrum auction.

Since 2007, I have acted as an Expert Witness in the field of Cell Site Analysis and related disciplines. Between 2007 and 2017 this was with Forensic Telecommunications Services Limited (FTS) where I also led R&D activities. Since 2017, I have continued to work as an Expert Witness with MASS Consultants, also directly for the Metropolitan Police Service and now with Forensic Partners Ltd.

I have provided evidence in over 500 criminal cases, predominantly concerning the movement, whereabouts, use and attribution of mobile phones, proving an impartial service to the Criminal Justice System (for both the Prosecution and Defence). I regularly give evidence at the Central Criminal Court and other Crown Courts throughout the UK.
